What is Pilates?

Pilates is a modality that uses the own body weight in its execution and which is based on contrology , that means, it works the strength and flexibility of the body, in balanced form and with the control of the movements.

This modality provides a movement re-education and it also allows to improve breathing, correct posture, prevent injuries and reduce stress.

Who can attend Pilates classes?

Pilates is intended for people of any age, sex or physical condition, including pregnant women and / or the elderly. The main objective is to adapt the exercises of the method to each body, always aiming at improving physical condition and health.

The modality is applied to each person in a different way, since all bodies are different. It is necessary to take into account characteristics such as historic of health, the morpholgy and injuries or pathologies already existing. With this information, a specific individual program suitable for each practitioner is developed.

The modality can be practiced through two different types of classes: in Matwork (mattress) and in the Apparatus (machines).
